Roberto Brunialti communicates:
"It's in two volumes because a total of 512 pages would have made a single one cumbersome and difficult to handle. This is not a simple assembling or translation (of the first Italian book), but a completely new book. All text is in English, and has been revised and updated and, where necessary, partly or totally rewritten. All pieces (about 1200 in total) have been photographed anew one by one (as have the patents and the contemporary source illustrations) and are shown in their actual size. There are about 300 new pieces not seen in the previous books - some truly extraordinary, such as the Boucher 'Hungry Pelican', the moveable 'Cuckoo Clock', the big 'Mexican Head' and the Trifari David Mir jelly belly 'Eagle' on the front cover.
There are many many new illustrations from newspapers and magazines. This time, as we began to do in 'Tribute to America', they are placed alongside the piece they refer to. The concept is the same but the organization is different: the pieces follow the company story and are shown not in full page plates, but one by one next to their descriptions, patents and illustrations. Having all the pieces together, which were previously scattered in two books, gives a more accurate impression of a manufacturer's production (for example, Trifari's 'Ming Collection').
Among the new companies and designers covered, there are Rebajes (with his best pieces), Anthony Creations, Hess-Appel, and Nat Levy - Urie Mandle, already present before, but now better treated.
There have been some further changes since the publishers issued the promotional material. The finished books will have on the front covers: (vol 1) the Boucher "Dwarf Tree"; and (vol 2) the David Mir Jelly Belly 'Eagle' (currently shown as being on the vol 1 cover). And the jelly bellies and patriotics are both in volume 2."

Pulisher's Information:
This encyclopedic study is the fruit of twenty years of collecting, research, and study of the most significant American costume jewelry from 1930-1950. It offers readers a meticulous, reliable instrument to knowing these gems, which are often true and proper little works of art.
In the two volumes, over 966 photographs show hundreds of jewelry items in full color, with an additional 729 illustrations of patents, advertisements, and historic photos. Thirty-seven companies are included, with addtional chapters on "jelly belly" jewelry in volume one and patriotic jewelry in the second volume. In-depth research of the companies makes this the best source on the American costume jewelry industry.
The first volume, A-M, covers the companes from Accessocraft to Mosell, and includes Boucher, Coro, Eisenberg, Miriam Haskell, Hobe and others, as well as a chapter on jelly belly jewelry.
The second volume N-Z, continues with Norma Jewelry Corp., through Rebajes, Réja, Trifari, to Uncas Manufacturing, with a chapter on American patriotic jewelry.
