Reference: Patent (for four dragons) is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed Jan, granted Feb 1942. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 2 p 119, this two dragon variant. Luxe et fantaisie: Bijoux de la collection Barbara Berger (Paris, 2003), pp. 152-3 (4 dragons), and Gioielli Fantasia - Costume Jewelry: Patrizia Sandretto Re Rebaudengo's Collection (Milan, 2010) p 83 (2 dragons) for the black enamel and pearl version - which was advertised (probably with 4 dragons) at Woodward & Lothrop, $20 plus tax, in the [Washington DC] Times Herald, 26 Mar 1942, p 5; click thumbnail above to view advertisement
