Marked: Pat 1649187 (both screw mechanisms)
Reference: Matching pins and necklaces from this series were patented and advertised by Trifari in fall 1940 - see matching patented pin TKF7847 (pictured together with the earrings below), and an advertised necklace with the same leaves TKF6886. The use of these screwbacks by Trifari is unusual, but as originally manufactured. Patent (reproduced below) is for a 'Safety Back Device for Ear Ornaments', filed Oct 1926, granted to Philip Reiter of New York Nov 1927. (17 yr standard duration) ••Reference Links - tkf7847 tkf6886
