Reference: Patent (for the matching pin) is reproduced below (scroll down); designer A Philippe, filed July 1946, granted a year later July 1947. The pin (with different earrings) was featured for sale at Lord & Taylor NYC, price $70 plus tax, in Vogue 1 Dec 1946, p 216; click thumbnail above to view advertisement.
