Description: gold and rhodium plated sterling, rhinestones. This was originally an earring, converted long ago to a scatter pin.

Reference: Mark dates this to 1945. Our thanks to Roberto Brunialti for sorting out the dates of the Boucher serial numbers, and generously sharing the information. Brunialti, American Costume Jewelry - Art and Industry (2008) Vol 1 p 63, large elephant pin, marked 2312, in sterling. This pin was originally a matching earring; it would have had sterling marked on the clips or screws, and its companion would have been marked MB. It has been converted long ago to a scatter pin.
Condition: Very good - this is an old pin conversion from an earring
