Marked: Clips marked Pat 1852188 Reference: Patent is for the dress clip mechanism, dated 1932: this patent was characteristically used by Coro (eg COR277). The customised pin carrier (a 'frame' carrying the pin, onto which the clips attach) suggests the piece may predate Coro's purchase of the classic 'Duette' patent (1798867) in 1933.
